Unexpected Love Stories Podcast

What a great day to share this news. We recently had the honor of sharing out love story on Dawn Pruszkowski’s show, Unexpected Love Stories. It had been quite a while since Chris & I had shared our story. It was so fun for us to go back over things to prepare for the taping. We’re almost to the 15 year mark of marriage now. Wow! We actually have some time behind us now!

I met Dawn at the ICVM Conference in Orlando where she talked about her show. She also has episodes talking about her own God-Written Love Story.

Here’s the blurb about our episode:

Award-winning writer and screenwriter Cheryl McKay Price joins Unexpected Love Stories with her husband Chris to share how decades of waiting led to a real-life love story that unfolded in ways she never could have planned. Cheryl is the author of Finally the Bride and co-author of Never the Bride—two books born out of her own long season of singleness, faith, and surrender. In this conversation, Chris and Cheryl talk openly about waiting, reconnecting after many years, and what it’s like to watch God weave together a story far bigger than either of them expected.

Dawn has some other great stories on there. (Including my good friends, Cameron and BJ Arnett, as BJ shares their story.)

I’m also excited to share that right after our episode aired, Dawn was able to interview two very lovely friends of ours:

Lara and Andrew Pilcher, who have a marriage ministry. Lara is also an author, actress, and life coach. They have a fascinating journey in life!

We just so happened to run into each other the day they filmed their episode, which is coming up soon. If you subscribe to Dawn’s YouTube Channel, you will get updates on all her podcasts.

We were all honored to share our stories. I hope you enjoy them.

And thank you, Dawn, for having us on your show.

Joy comes in the morning

Here’s my latest ‘work in progress,’ a wonderful true story I hope to make as a film.

JC TitleIt’s unusual for me as a screenwriter to come across someone’s life story that I feel so compelled to chase on my own. Normally, producers find stories, option the rights, then hire to me to help draft the scripts. Two recent movies I co-wrote were Extraordinary and Indivisible both based on true stories.  One comes out in Fall 2017 and the other in 2018. Even though I love coming up with original works of fiction, there’s just something about working on true stories. People relate to them because of that raw honesty that can come from people’s life experiences.

What has turned into the screenplay, Joy Comes, is the story that captured my heart and hasn’t let go since I started working on it.

Merry Christmas

Christmas. It’s my favorite time of year. And my favorite type of story to write involves Christmas. That’s a good thing this year since I worked on quite a few projects with Christmas themes. One was an episode of CBN’s Superbook, a Bible series for kids. I wrote what will be their 2016 Christmas episode.

The other was a script, then a novella called O Little Town of Bethany. This story is near to my heart as it captures the life of a girl who needed to figure out how to live a life worth remembering. Making memories is one of my favorite parts of the Christmas season. Traditions within my family drives my excitement this time of year. And the older lady in the story, Bethany, is losing her memory. I can’t imagine what I would be like to one day not remember it’s Christmas. These were…
